From last month’s meeting of the Cherry Creek Small Business Network: 2012 Colorado Tax Calendar

This handout covers the tax filing and deposit deadlines for businesses in Colorado – both state and federal.

The topic March, presented by Jason Biondolillo of New York Life, is Company Owned Life Insurance (COLI). COLI is frequently an affordable and efficient method for companies to get tax deferred growth on capital, a method for financing non-qualified plans, rewarding key employees, and protecting businesses in the event of a death. Based on an industry survey, 75% of Fortune 1000 companies use COLI programs and 43 of the top 50 banks have implemented a similar program.

The information session will begin at 8:00 am on March 14th and take about 15-20 minutes, giving you plenty of time after to network or get to work.

Also, we have changed the location of our meetings to better support the small business community. This month, we’ll again be at Rooster and Moon, a local coffeepub at 955 Bannock St in Denver. You may notice that the site is not quite as refined as it used to be. Sorry to say that due to some hosting issues, we’ve lost most of our formatting and content. Posts from October, 2010, and earlier are available at Archive.org. Unfortunately, that’s as far forward as the Archive crawled the site. But, don’t worry! We’ll get it looking spiffy once again. Big things are happening at The D. J. Marcus Law Firm and content will be flowing like the salmon of Capistrano. It’s good to be back.
